Leonardo Bigazzi The Space Between: Artistic Process and Curatorial Practice

As part of the Moving Image program, the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Bangkok Kunsthalle, invites local artists working in the field of moving images to participate in a workshop with Leonardo Bigazzi, curator of Fondazione In Between Art Film (2020).

Leonardo Bigazzi co-curated the exhibitions Nebula (2024), presented at the Venice Art Biennale in 2024; Ali Cherri: Dreamless Night (2023-24); and Penumbra (2022). He is also curator of Lo schermo dell’arte (The Screen of Art, 2008 to present), a project launched in Florence in 2008 dedicated to the exploration, analysis, and promotion of the relationships between contemporary art, moving images, and cinema. Leonardo Bigazzi is also the founder and curator of VISIO (2012 to present), a research, residency, and production program dedicated to artists who use moving images in their artistic practice.

The workshop is a unique opportunity to engage in dialogue and exchange ideas with one of the most internationally renowned curators and film producers.

It focuses on the synergy between the artistic process and curatorial practice, offering participants a stimulating platform for exchange. The informal and intimate setting and environment of Bangkok Kunsthalle allows for open and constructive dialogue between Leonardo Bigazzi and participants, activating a process of technical skill transfer and an opportunity to build valuable relationships, developing a clearer vision of one’s own professional and career path.

The workshop will take place on February 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with lunch included.
The deadline for submitting participation requests is February 15. Please send your portfolio to rosalia.e@bangkok-kunsthalle.org.
