Weaving Futures: A Cross-Cultural Journey in Sustainable Design

This October, Weaving Futures brings together European and Thai bachelor-level design students in Thailand, with 9 European countries represented: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.
From an intercultural workshop in Bangkok to a field immersion in Chiang Mai, followed by a creative residency in Bangkok, they will explore sustainability, cultural heritage and eco-responsible design through exchange and co-creation.
Programme Timeline 5 – 25 October 2026
The programme will take place in Thailand from 5 to 25 October 2026 and will unfold in three main phases.
5–8 October (Bangkok) It will begin in Bangkok with a series of workshops, academic visits, and meetings with mentors.
9–14 October (Chiang Mai – San Din Daeng) This will be followed by a field immersion in the Chiang Mai region, during which participants will engage directly with local communities and contexts.
15–25 October (Bangkok) The programme will conclude with a creative residency in Bangkok, allowing students to develop and produce collaborative design outcomes.
Their collaborative work will be presented to the public during the 13th edition of Galleries Nights in Bangkok on November 20 and 21.
