The Week of the Italian Language in the World is held every year during the third week of October. Organized by the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes in collaboration with our main partners in linguistic promotion (MiC, MIM, MUR, CePeLL, Government of the Swiss Confederation, Accademia della Crusca, CGIE, Comunità Radiotelevisiva Italofona, Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, RAI Italia, and Società Dante Alighieri), over time the Week has become the most important global event dedicated to our language. Since its establishment in 2001, this initiative has annually received the High Patronage of the President of the Republic.

In the year of the First International Conference on Italophony, and in continuity with the fifth edition of the General Assembly of the Italian Language in the World, the 25th edition (13–19 October 2025) will focus on the theme “Italophony: a language beyond borders”, with the goal of celebrating the linguistic, cultural, and social space of Italian, envisioning a new community of people worldwide united by their passion for our language and, through it, by their closeness to our country.

On the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, the film Parthenope will be screened on Friday, October 10, at Room 304, Mahachakkri Sirindhorn Building, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
