Duo Baraldi | Roots and Migrations – Violin & Violoncello

Duo Baraldi and International Concert Tour “Roots and Migrations” Across Europe and Asia

Italian-Chinese brothers Demian (violin) and Dylan Baraldi (cello) are set to embark on their 2026 international tour, Roots and Migrations. Drawing directly from their shared heritage, the Baraldi brothers bring their cross-cultural identity to life on stage through a dynamic musical dialogue bridging Italy and Asia.

Winner of the Per chi Crea 2025 grant from SIAE and the Italian Ministry of Culture, this major initiative frames artists as historical “migrants” who carry and transform cultural knowledge through exchange. The 2026 tour features seven site-specific concerts across Italy, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand, designed to introduce Italian music in Asia while offering European audiences a fresh, intercultural perspective on their own classical traditions.

The tour’s repertoire spans four centuries of music. It features 18th-century compositions by Teodorico Pedrini, an Italian missionary-composer at the imperial court in Beijing, alongside a newly commissioned piece by contemporary composer Nicola Segatta. Conceived as a journey along the ancient Silk Road, Segatta’s work uses the violin and cello as two imaginary vessels traveling from West to East.

For their Bangkok performance, Duo Baraldi will share the stage with Thai jakae virtuoso Foam Udomchanya, weaving together distinct musical traditions. Alongside the concert series, the tour will host masterclasses and educational outreach, marking the first chapter of a long-term international platform expanding across Asia, South America, and beyond.
