Lecture | The Italian Contemporary Classic: A Thematic and Stylistic Analysis of Ferrante, Cognetti, and Giordano

As part of the 26th Italian Language Week in the World 2026, the Italian Cultural Institute Bangkok is pleased to present a special lecture by Prof. Chatsuni Sinthusing: “The Italian Contemporary Classic: A Thematic and Stylistic Analysis of Ferrante, Cognetti, and Giordano”.

This lecture will offer a thematic and stylistic analysis of contemporary Italian prose through three iconic works made available to the Thai public through their translations: L’amica geniale (My Brilliant Friend) by Elena Ferrante, Le otto montagne (The Eight Mountains) by Paolo Cognetti, and La solitudine dei numeri primi (The Solitude of Prime Numbers) by Paolo Giordano. An unmissable opportunity to explore the forms, and stylistic languages that define the new classics of 21st-century Italian literature.
